ABOUT THE PASTOR
PASTOR ALONZO JOHNSON JR.
Alonzo Johnson Jr. is a native of Luthcher, Louisiana. Alonzo accepted Jesus Christ into his heart at the tender age of 12. He served as junior deacon and also a choir member at Israelite Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Louis Johnson in Luthcer, Louisiana. In 1980, he received a track scholarship and attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana, now called University of Lafayette Louisiana, where he majored in Industrial Technology. He Successfully graduated from the University in 1984.
Alonzo, affectionately known as "Chief", is married to Carmen Marie Johnson, his high school sweetheart. He and his wife now reside in Fate, Texas and they have three daughters.
Rev. Johnson placed his membership at Mt. Hebron Baptist Chuch, where he served as deacon and faithful choir member under the leadership of Pastor James B. Rodgers. In 1993, Rev. Johnson accepted his calling to the ministry, while serving as deacon under the leadership of Pastor Hal Johnson. In 1994, Rev. Johnson went to co-labor with Pastor Donald Mitchell at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, which was a new work that the Lord had begun. In 1996, he became an ordained minister and began serving as interim Pastor for one year. He then became Pastor of a membership that grew from about sixty members to a congregation of nearly one hundred and forty.
God has truly blessed his ministry. All Glory and Honor to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Purpose of Faith Missionary Baptist Church is to:
* Love the Lord with all your heart;
* Love your neighbor as yourself;
* Be a Bibe-teaching church;
* Make Disciples - by teaching, training, and equipping the saints to do the work of the ministry;
* Lead the lost to Christ - by evangelism and home-bible teaching;
* Spiritually grow the church by making Sunday a major priority and by compelling all ministers, leaders, auxiliary
leaders, chior members, greeters/ushers, and ministry departments to faithfully attend Sunday School and
Wednesday Bible Study;
* Minister to the needs of others, as well as the members of our congregation;
* Produce fruit of its kind - church planning;
* Build a strong worship service and fellowship;
* Show ourselves friendly; and
* Build a strong family-oriended ministry by focusing on our children, youth, young adults, singles, and married
ministries
